Re: Is it me ...

Nah, just a different body type. Perfectly healthy for military recruitment. This is the equivalent of expectung all male recruits to look like Riker when they could just as easily be Nog. For recruitment, perhaps. But unless the character is a first-year cadet, she'd likely have been required to s...

Re: The Return of Picard

A number of possibilities present themselves: He's still captain of the Enterprise , with the same rank, which in my opinion would be absurd, and of which there's only a 5% chance, though it's not off the table because ... well, see below He's recently retired, but with his finger on the pulse of th...

Re: Trailer: Aquaman

Once more I will reiterate that I will see nothing in the new line of DC movies. I have only seen Man of Steel and I was supremely displeased with it. You need to set that aside and see Wonder Woman . It's by far the best of the bunch, and easily compares with Marvel's stable. The rest really have ...

Re: Trailer: Aquaman

I have to admit that Momoa is the whole draw here for me... He amuses me. Whenever I see him, I think he seems very kind and easygoing. To evoke that when he's built like the proverbial brick shit-house means either he is, or he's even better an actor than I believed, because to me it doesn't seem ...

I have never felt the need to revisit the Harry Potter universe.

This trailer has not changed that.

Re: Ant Man and The Wasp

I don't think it's as easy to judge the movie fairly without having seen Ant-Man. These productions rely in some measure on continuity.

That said, I enjoyed the first one more.

My lingering impression: My God, Michelle Pfeiffer is absolutely luminous even at her age. Wow.

Re: RIP: Harlan Ellison 1934-2018

Ellison was too far ahead of his time. He'd likely be much more appreciated and flourish today. By most if not all accounts, though, he was not a fun guy if you crossed him ... and wasn't the forgiving sort. Evidently Ellison had more enemies for life than close friends. Seems he's deserving of his ...

Re: An ... ahem ... perspective on "A Matter of Perspective"

i never liked that character, she lost her husband, but it doesn't excuse her behavior blaming an innocent man of assault. He's a good person, but women are his weakness, and he's not a paragon of virtue (cf. "The Pegasus" and this ep). Like Troi said, she wasn't lying, so accusing "an innocent man...
