Re: Star Trek: Picard

You know, I can only be fooled so many times. Nothing about this sounds good to me. Nothing I have heard of the behind the scenes makes me feel like this show is going to do for me what STD failed to do for me. I am so freaking tired of fighting in this community, both this forum and the larger Tre...

Re: In another forum I was asked ...

Picard has never wanted to be promoted to Admiral, so of course others will be promoted over him. He is staying on the bridge of a starship doing what he loves.

Re: The Orville

he new "Picard show" appears to already have the same problem. After 'Discovery', I am dreading the new Picard show. I've set my expectations low and will not be pinning any hopes for the future of the franchise on it. I can only hope Sir Patrick has enough affections for the fandom and clout to ma...

"Flashback" (VOY):
TUVOK: In the twenty third century, holographic imaging resolution was less accurate.

Holograms were used in the 23rd century, but not to the extent as they were in the 24th--possibly a resurgence in interest in an old fad which stuck this time.

Axanar Returns!

Yay! Not a full film, but I'll take thirty minutes of good-quality Trek over the dross from CBS.

Re: Has anyone finished watching Discovery's 1st fifteen eps

I still can't make it past the train wreck that was "The Vulcan Hello" (ridiculous title for a pilot episode). I've read comments made by others on the show and all I can tell is that characters are killed off left and right in order to add angst and drama, whilst there are multiple reveals of doppe...

Re: "Where My Heart Will Take Me" ...

I'm very 'meh' about it. It's not a bad song, but just felt a little out of place for a Trek opening. That being said it is about 100 times better than the drivel of STD's opening.

Re: What role did the Enterprise-E play in the Dominion War?

We saw in Insurrection she seemed to spend a lot of her time in the war on PR and diplomatic assignments. Who better to send out and drum up support for the Federation than one of Starfleet's most prestigious Captain's on one of the most famous ships? Also with the tactical strength of the Sovereign...

Seven did take a lot of screen time, but Season 4 also saw the rise of the EMH, who I can't stand.

Re: If Trek Channels were Honest about the Oberth Class

Clicking the link took me to a vid on the nature and role of the Intrepid-Class, which then sparked the idea: what if Voyager had been an Oberth-Class (or some version of it)? A smaller, older ship with a more dedicated role as a surveyor/science ship. I then found the Oberth vid you were probably r...
