We consider them dumb because they are dumb.

Each generation has a flavor of dumb they accept as par for the course.

I no longer rage against such things. I simply sigh and watch something I like.

Probably so.

D&D ruined gaming for me for the most part. More the result of a poor DM than anything else, but marriage and kids probably had something to do with it too.
