Ant Man and The Wasp

Post by Quoshara » Mon Jul 09, 2018 10:25 pm

I didn't see the 2015 production of Ant-Man, so I didn't have many preconceptions of the character other than what I had seen in "Civil War".

I didn't think this was a great movie but it was okay for an evening's entertainment. Michael Douglas ego-filled Hank Pym was entertaining enough and Fishburne was good, as he usually is. The expected Stan Lee cameo made me snort and the ever shrinking and expanding props were well used.

And of course, the Infinity Wars tie-in just made me smile and groan at the same time.

Anyone else?

I don't think it's as easy to judge the movie fairly without having seen Ant-Man. These productions rely in some measure on continuity.

That said, I enjoyed the first one more.

My lingering impression: My God, Michelle Pfeiffer is absolutely luminous even at her age. Wow.
"Much of [Philip] Pullman’s (and [Richard] Dawkins’) reputation for being intelligent seems to be based largely on the reflexive American tendency to regard a British accent as conferring extra IQ points. Whenever these men speak about matters outside their narrow field of competence, they are complete ninnies and ignorami." – Mark Shea
